We bought this for our son who is just under two and has mild eczema on his hands and legs. We’ve been dealing with his eczema for quite some time and have tried a lot of other products. We keep coming back to this one for a couple of reasons:
1. It doesn’t irritate his skin (no fragrance or essential oils)
2. Has glycerin, petroleum jelly, and mineral oil – the triad of moisturizers all in one
3. Has dimethicone to help protect his skin from abrasion
4. Has colloidal oatmeal to help with the itching
We put it on right after his evening bath (to lock in the moisture) and once or twice a day as needed.
This won’t “cure” eczema but it does help keep the skin moisturized and my son definitely scratches less when we use it (in fact when he’s itchy he asks for “lotion”). When he flares up we combine this with a basic hydrocortisone (our pediatrician recommended getting hydrocortisone ointments which are generally just petroleum jelly and hydrocortisone). It probably goes without saying that if your baby has eczema it good to talk to your doctor about treatment. Our doctor gave us good advice on how best to use over-the-counter products safely so as to minimize side-effects. He also gave us some things we could do to prevent secondary infections and arranged a blood test to help determine what our son’s food triggers were. All combined we’re starting to finally get ahead of the eczema.

My baby has SUPER sensitive skin. I tried Johnson & Johnson and she broke out in a major rash. After doing some research, I decided to spend the money and buy the California baby products. What a waste of money! I was getting very desperate because every time I would bathe my baby, her skin would flare up with horrible bumps that almost looked like she was about to bleed! FINALLY, a friend of mine suggested the Aveeno Baby products and I LOVE THEM! This lotion is amazing! My baby’s skin is SO much better! She is not red and bumpy after I bathe her. I can’t thank my friend enough for introducing me to this product.

Days after my daughters were born, they both had eczema on their faces and necks. Their Pediatriction prescribed some cream(won’t mention it here) which the pharmacist told me was super strong, probably not something for babies and toddlers. He suggested the Aveeno Soothing Relief Moisture cream. I applied it on them lavishly, every few hours all over their faces and bodies. In 3 days, the eczema was literally gone.
Applying some medicated creams cause drying, making the problem worse. This worked for my girls but it wasn’t for a friend’s daughter who turned out to be allergic to soy products so it did nothing for her. It’s not for everyone but worth a try before medicated creams in my humble opinion. My girls and I still use it. Glad it comes in the larger 8 ounce bottles now. Be sure to cut it in half to get to the rest of the cream when it doesn’t squeeze out so well !!

My son had terrible eczema on his legs and elbows. My doctor actually prescribed Eucerin but it didn’t do anything. I picked up a bottle of this and within a few days his skin was baby soft again. It really does work for 24 hours and does an awesome job!

My son has had issues with dry, itchy skin since he was about a month old, and we tried a lot of different products to deal with it. This lotion was the only one that actually helped enough to let the skin heal rather than just stop getting worse. I foolishly ran out of the stuff for four days, and by the end of it he was quite the cranky child – until I got the new bottle and put some on him. Within half an hour I had my happy, non-itchy baby back. I will never run out again!!
