Anti Aging Moisturizers

Question by blahme: anti aging skin care – 25 yr old?
I’m 25 and I want to start taking better care of my skin (not just my face either but my body too) than just putting on lotion. There are so many products out there and I dont know what any of them do! What do you use and what is its purpose! Thanks!

Drink LOTS of water! Its the best thing to keep your skin healthy. Im lucky and unlucky with my skin, lucky that I look really young for my age but unlucky in that I suffer with ‘adult onset acne’ It sucks!
Anyhoo, I really believe the best cream for your skin is a decent sunscreen. Face and body, just slap it on! Its scientifically proven to slow the ageing process and it protects your skin from sun damage. I use factor 15 in the winter and then go to factor 30 as soon as the sun shows up. I also use the Neutrogena Wave facial cleanser thingum. Exfoliation is important to keep your skin looking bright and healthy.
Be careful if you want to try an anti-wrinkle cream as they can be pretty harsh, especially the ones with AHA’s in them. I borrowed my moms and it burned my face :(
Nivea do a good range, the Q-10 is designed for skin that hasnt started to get wrinkles yet, might be worth a shot, Ill be sticking to the sunscreen though, its the only thing Im not allergic to!

I agree. Exfoliating at least once a week is really good.

I know the products for antiaging can be very confusing. I can write a book about it. But anyway, here’s one that I always go back to and it’s something you can make right out in your kitchen.

I mix about half a cup of plain greek yoghurt with about 2 tablespoons of olive oil. I then slather this all over my body before I have a bath. (apparently you can add honey too, but have not tried that). Makes your skin all nice and soft. The lactic acid in yoghurt is great for your skin (that’s why Cleopatra bathed in milk!).

Remember not to use soap afterwards as it can be harsh. And no very hot water if you can tolerate it.

I also use this exact same thing for my hair. I shampoo it afterwards though as it tends to get too oily if I dont. When my hair gets dry, it’s really nice and soft though.
