  1. This product is truly amazing and I don’t throw the word amazing around very much! I have battled acne since I was a teen and my skin is even worse now as an adult. I first purchased Hope in a Bottle because I heard it was good for moisturizing, so when I saw that it battled acne too, I was excited, although hesitant, as I don’t like to try too many acne products in fear of making my skin worse.

I saw comments on another website on how drying this product is and I agree that it is drying, but not in the manner to which it sounds. If your face is dry and you apply the product, it won’t smooth on well. The product needs a little moisture to help smooth it in, so I put a small pea size amount of hope on my fingers, then I slightly wet my other fingers and combine them all together and apply to the face. The moisture from the water makes the application of the lotion easy and covers your whole face where you don’t have to keep getting more lotion. This will also make your bottle last a long time. This product does not make your face dry after you have it on. My face is more moisturized then it has ever been in my life and my zits have disapeared and the roughness of my face is smoothing out, it is truly AMAZING. Oh yea, and the smell of it could be a little better, takes some getting used to.

I use this product in the morning when I’m in humid places and it helps my skin cope with constant traveling and the climate changes that go along with it. It really does help prevent pimples and doesn’t become greasy.

However… it smells awful. If you’re planning to snuggle up next to someone at night, don’t use it before you crawl into bed. Instead, I recommend L’Occitane’s Almond Apple Velvet Concentrate. It smells great, and using a gentler product at night keeps the “Hope in a Bottle” from becoming too drying. (And unlike Philosophy’s gentler moisturizer, “Hope in Jar,” the Almond Apple cream doesn’t evaporate after a flight in your suitcase.)
